Serving Dominican and Haitian Families
Maybe your gifts fit the need here?
Prayer Partners are needed! If you know how to reach the ear of God with your prayers and can commit time to do that we need to know you are standing with us. We will send you weekly and urgent prayer needs for you to call before God within your own prayer circle. Please email TericaWilliams@gmail.com if you can seriously be a Prayer Partner.

What does it really cost to be a missionary in the Dominican Republic? Financially speaking, the cost to live here is very high compared to living in the states. Electric is triple the cost of that in the states, when we have it. Food cost twice the cost of that at home, and gasoline is five dollars a gallon. We also find ourselves being in front of major needs every other day involving medical care and hunger. How do you turn down someone who needs medical care or food for their children? We use our vehicle every day to help facilitate a local ministry to the poorest of the poor. We could certainly use your financial support as GOD gives you permission to support us.

All of the Missionaries who work with here at the New Missions center raise their own personal support. Some missionaries have churches who support them, others raise their own support through some type of "tent making" skill. Currently our support comes from Mike's speaking in the Spring and fall and a few dedicated friends who have chosen to help us. Let us be blatantly honest about this. We would like to reach a time where Mike does not have to leave the field here in country and come home to raise funding. We need to raise $75,000 dollars to fully fund this ministry each year. This is not money being spent to pay off credit cards, we have paid those off long ago. This is not money to pay for a mortgage, as we are selling the house in the states to pay for the apartment here in the Dominican. This amount would cover the cost of the insurance that we need to carry on our vehicle here in the D.R. and the health insurance that we need. We have scaled back to owning one car. Our 1987 Honda Accord serves Mike well for his travels. When we are home we live in a modest two bedroom house in Lakeland. Mike has a ladder that goes to the attic where he has a little office, it is rather quaint, and fun to watch him scurry up the ladder in the morning. Chapman uses it for a bedroom at night. We have diligently eliminated debt to better serve God in this ministry and be faithful servants of what He wants us to be. We do not want to ask of you any more than we would ask of ourselves. We are by no means complaining. We are thrilled that God has called us to minister in the Dominican and are very thankful for those who have been called by God to support this work. We would appreciate you prayerfully considering a gift to our work.

Tax deductible donations can be sent in the form of checks made payable to Grace Church (note Williams Mission fund) and sent to 5737 Lake Grove Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810. Please email us and let us know that you are sending something so we may thank you properly and let the church know to watch for it. You may also send an immediate gift by simply using PayPal and sending money to propcomedy@msn.com. All of your gifts are appreciated. Could we use financial help? Yes, without a doubt. We would love for you to prayerful consider partnering with us in the exciting work.

Thanks for caring enough to read,

Can Mike still come and speak for us?
Yes, Mike is as passionate as ever in his work and rather enjoys using his gift of comedy. He speaks the entire time the family is out of the country on furlough and occasionally travels out to speak for special events and events for the Mission itself. Every dollar raised through this effort goes to support the Bible College and Church ministry. If you would like to consider Mike for an event please call Gloria Leyda at 615-377-9100 xt 235 and she will arrange your request. The schedule is very very limited so call early. gloria.leyda@ambassadorspeakers.com

Teachers for the Spanish and Haitian Bible College needed! If you speak Spanish or Haitian and have an expertise in any area of Bible or general studies please contact Mike immediately. We need your help in the production of high quality video based programming and on site college programs. If you can serve, we can find a place for you to do that. It cost us $70,000 a year to fully fund the Bible college. Would you be interested in helping fund this in part of in full?

Doctors, Dentists, and Nurses needed for our medical center!
We need medical volunteers to work at the clinic. Doctors, Nurses, Dentist are all needed. If you are not here, Mike has to operate without medical training! We don't want that. So please consider coming for a week and lending a hand. We also need various items from simple aspirin and vitamins (especially pre-natal) to diabetic and asthmatic supplies. There is always a need for medical supplies here. Please watch the YouTube video and consider.   www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV8wHpa0aZs

Short term mission teams needed! We need student teams to lead outreach events, bible schools, sports and musical training. Student based mission trips are filled with interaction with the local people. We get the students into the local communities to share a message and to experience the culture. There are sports camps, Bible schools, roadside drama, clinics and feedings. You may be asked to dress like Jesus and carry a cross through a town or cook 50 quarts of rice! But in it all, we will draw a crowd, and tell them about Jesus. There are various work projects, but are main goal is to connect with people. We also need Pastors to teach and train our Spanish speaking Pastors. We have interpreters, but we love it when we have Spanish speakers as part of your team. The dates for your team must be coordinated with the Orlando New Missions office. The cost for a team is usually about $350 for the entire week plus your airfare. We have entire families that participate on almost every mission team. Children as young as four years old have participated on the teams. One of our full time mission families came the first time with their four year old daughter.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHEJIoRK054

Airline miles are needed! If you have any unused miles on American Airlines, we could use them. We need to travel back and forth to the Dominican and Haiti at least twice a year. Airline miles disappear if you do not use them with a year. Be a good steward and use them or give them away before they expire. Please let Terica know if you have any miles you could transfer over to our American Airlines account. TericaWilliams@gmail.com
